About the Journal
Developed in an age in which negativity and controversy receive far more attention than the wholesome, this journal's mission is celebration. "Alegrarse," in Spanish, means "to rejoice," to recognize the admirable, to bathe in awe, to grow comfortable in the murky waters of bewilderment. Formerly a journal that specialized in close-readings, we have expanded to a quarterly publication, featuring the best poetry and essays across the web, with new issues every February, June, September, and December.
Alegrarse's mission is to be an online space that is both for and about poetry. Often, contributors will have brief interviews attached to their original published work, whose topics can include information about the writer's writing process, how they became inspired to write the piece, etc.
